Most electric fireplaces come standard with a heater. The models we carry provide 3,000 to 9,200 BTU’s. These fireplaces warm an area of 250 to 700 square feet. You can also operate the fireplace without the heat, allowing you year round use. Running the fireplace with flame only can cost as little at 3 cents per hour, compared to approximately 9 cents per hour with heat.

There are many options, depending on the size of your fireplace, and the type of fuel you plan to use. By installing a wood, pellet, or gas insert, you will make your existing wood fireplace more efficient. You could also consider a gas log set, which provides less heat, but closely replicates the look of a wood fire without the work. We can also install an electric fireplace into your existing opening.

We highly recommend the use of a mantel between the fireplace and the television, or recess the television in a niche so it is set back from the front of the fireplace. Please refer to your fireplace manual for clearances to combustibles. We also strongly suggest adding a fan kit to help move the heat away from the fireplace and into the room. Too much heat is likely to shorten the lifespan of electronics. Consult your television owner’s manual for more information.

Yes, we do. We have service technicians that specialize in servicing fireplaces, and they work on all makes and models. Our technicians service gas, electric, wood and pellet appliances. However, we do not offer the service of cleaning chimneys or repairs to masonry wood fireplaces.

If your fireplace or stove has a standing pilot light, it will light during a power outage. If your gas fireplace has an intermittent pilot ignition system, it requires electricity to spark the pilot flame each time it is used. Many of these models have a battery backup system that can be used during a power outage. If you have a second home, or plan to be away during winter months, consider controlling your fireplace with a thermostat. Home & Hearth warrants to the original owner that our products will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of installation. During the first year we will replace or repair, at our discretion, any defective components. The basic warranty is subject to some conditions and exclusions.

We warrant that the firebox, heat exchanger, logs and burner will not be defective in material or workmanship during the period the product is owned by the original owner, subject to some conditions and exclusions which are listed in your owners’ manual.
